Topic: The Evolving World of Environmental Regulations and its Impact on the Oil & Gas Industry

This presentation details the evolution of environmental regulations, its effects on the oil and gas industry and its impact on company’s resources. It also discusses how adoption of responsible corporate culture and implementation of standard practices can aid in reducing environmental impact and benefit the corporation, its employees and the society.

Ms. Sucheta Gokhale – Bio

Ms. Sucheta Gokhale is an Environmental Compliance Lead at Denbury Resources, Inc. at their corporate office in Plano, TX. Being part of the HSE department at Denbury, Ms. Gokhale is responsible for ensuring compliance of company’s operations with the environmental regulations governing the Oil and Gas industry, developing tools to determine the environmental impact of injecting carbon dioxide at Denbury’s oil fields, and developing standard operating procedures for the department. Prior to Denbury, Ms. Gokhale worked as an environmental specialist for consulting firms in Houston and Dallas, TX where she provided consulting services to several industrial sectors such as oil & gas, manufacturing, chemical processing, food processing and construction. She received her Masters in Environmental Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Ms. Gokhale grew up in Mumbai, India where she received her Bachelors in Civil Engineering prior to pursuing a career in Environmental Engineering in the United States. Ms. Gokhale is a certified Professional Engineer with the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.

Ms. Gokhale serves on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Energy Network North Texas. She also serves as a mentor to students at University of Texas at Dallas through Young Professionals in Energy’s mentoring program. Ms. Gokhale enjoys photography and 5k races in her leisure time.
