Speaker: Pat Handren P.E., Chief Well Integrity Engineer, Denbury Resources Inc.
Pat Handren will discuss the early beginnings of the Permian Basin in West Texas, exploring how the fields were originally developed. He will also give a brief explanation of fracturing and how it works, which will lead directly into how the fields are being "rediscovered" now.
Pat Handren graduated from Texas Tech University in 1981 with a BS in Petroleum Engineering. He has been in the petroleum industry for over 35 years. He has worked for several companies through his career, and currently is the Chief Well Integrity Engineer for Denbury Resources, Inc. Pat has written numerous papers and has spoken in many professional and public venues. He is more than willing to share his knowledge and experiences with anyone who wants to know about the petroleum industry.
