Topic: Acquisitions, Divestitures & the Importance of Land

Speaker: Eli Murray, CDOA, CPLTA, Division Order & Property Administration Manager

Acquisitions and divestitures are a great way to manage the assets of energy companies. While these transactions involve many departments, Land Administration is one of the last departments to incorporate the properties into the buyer's system and/or discharge the records from the seller's custody. As preparation for these dealings are the key to success, we'll discuss ways in which Land, Land Administration and Division Orders can learn from past slip-ups and empower their department to shine in the future.

Eli is a graduate of Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, with a Bachelor of Arts in Music.  After spending a year recording an album and signing jingles with a local production company, she decided to enlist in the U.S. Army Reserves.  Upon her completion of training, she moved back to Dallas and started working at Harding Energy Partners as a file clerk. After a few years at Harding, she was hired as a lease analyst for Eagle Oil and Gas.  During her employment with Eagle, her unit was deployed to Afghanistan, and she was placed on long term orders to serve stateside.  After her time at Eagle, she began working with EXCO Resources, Inc., where she progressed from Land Analyst to Division Order Analyst.  After several years at EXCO, she joined her current employer, RSP Permian L.L.C., as the Division Order & Property Administration Manager.

Eli became a CDOA in 2013, a CPLTA in 2015, and was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves in 2014.  She is a member of DALWORTH Association of Division Order Analysts, and serves on the Board of Directors as a Hospitality Chair. She is also an active member of the National Association of Division Order Analysts, and serves as a member of the Certification Committee.
