DFW-ALTA invites you to join us for a special screening of the documentary Breaking Free-The Shale Rock Revolution

Film Description:

Breaking Free is a new documentary about the drive toward American energy independence. The film was directed by Robin Bossert and produced by Chris Faulkner and Ann Stephenson.

The focus of the film is on the Shale Rock Revolution, and how hydraulic fracturing has affected the local, state and national communities at large. Its goal is to lower the temperature on the heated discussion about hydraulic fracturing which is being fueled by both sides of the issue.

Breaking Free introduces the subject of hydraulic fracturing, enhanced by stories of the people living in the towns, sharing the good and the bad, with the goal of informing and educating in a nonpartisan way the benefits of becoming energy independent in our lifetimes. An estimated 20 percent of all the nation's oil and gas reserves reside on tribal lands. One of the side stories of this film is the affect that fracking has had on the Native American community.

Hydraulic fracturing is a rich source of domestic energy.  It’s time to build the right kind of energy infrastructure for the future.  It’s time to lower greenhouse emissions the smart way without wrecking the economy. It’s time for independence!

Director:

Robin Bossert, a filmmaker for over 30 years, has seen it all, from being a cameraman for the BBC back in the 16mm days to writing, directing and editing award winning educational videos, documentaries and corporate pieces. His goal as a filmmaker is to get out of the way of the story and let the audience experience the people and places directly no matter what the subject.

Producers:

Chris Faulkner founded Breitling Energy in 2004 after creating a 3D seismic imaging software program to help identify oil and gas resource plays that would previously have gone undetected. Dubbed by the media as “The Frack Master” for his unwavering defense of hydraulic fracturing, he serves as an advisor to the ECF Asia Shale Committee and sits on the Board of Directors for the North Texas Commission. Faulkner was named to the 2014 “40 under 40” list by the Dallas Business Journal, Industry Leader of the Year in 2013 by the Oil & Gas Awards for the Southwest Region, Oil Executive of the Year in 2013 by the American Energy Research Group, and recognized in the “Dallas Who’s Who in Energy” in 2012,2013 and 2014. In June, 2014, Chris released his new book, The Fracking Truth.

Ann Stephenson founded the public relations in 1987 firm that bears her name, after more than a decade of corporate communications and national media relations. As CEO of Stephenson Group and PayPerClip, she oversees all financial, operational and business development. Additionally, she is the lead contact for Stephenson Group clients, counseling management on such matters as strategic and action communications planning and crisis communication.
