2009

Awards, Special Honors and Recognitions

Each year, the Dallas-Fort Worth Association of Lease and Title Analysts (DFW-ALTA) recognizes those who have gone beyond the call of duty, to heights of unique success. These are individuals of distinction who add value to their organizations and communities. The DFW-ALTA Awards Program is an opportunity to honor those who give DFW-ALTA its “Power, Passion and Possibilities”.
DFW-ALTA recognized these members at the December 15th Holiday Luncheon in Fort Worth.

xtoenergy-3c-black_209_7371.jpg

On behalf of DFW-ALTA and NALTA, we expressed our gratitude and thanks by presenting XTO Energy Inc. with the 2009 Corporate Award.

This award is given to a company who has given support both in employee encouragement as well as monetary donations. This company will have continually encouraged employees to become members of DFW-ALTA, attend local meetings and seminars. This award will only be given, as the Board of Directors deems it appropriate.

From times past to the present, XTO Energy Inc. has constantly proven to be a true supporter of DFW-ALTA.  They continually encourage their employees to participate by allowing them time to volunteer and serve on the board to help DFW-ALTA.  This year they sponsored our Spring Seminar, which had the Second highest attendance to date of 100 in attendance. They also have given generous donations through the year and covered the expenses for the needed NALTA Conference CD containing the speaker’s presentations, prizes and cash donations.  The Award was accepted by Edwin “Win” Ryan, Senior Vice President.

Member of the Yea

Every year the DFW-ALTA Board of Directors awards an individual member the “Member of the Year Award”.  This year the Board had membership vote for this award. This individual has contributed heavily in 2009 to their local Chapter and to the organization's Educational efforts through organizing the local Seminars and Luncheons, and encouraging membership into the organization, as well as being of high professionalism and character.  Therefore is it with great pleasure that the Board presents Susan Rondon as recipient of the “2009 Member of the Year Award”.

Congratulations Susan!

Thanks to the generosity of Vaughn Vennerberg and Liz Luthans, who allow us to use their memberships at the Fort Worth Petroleum Club and Tower Club of Dallas, we have our luncheons at wonderful establishments.

Due to their trust and generosity our organization has flourished and our membership is allowed to enjoy a delicious meal in superior surroundings.  Mr. Vennerberg and Ms. Luthans have extended this courtesy to us free of charge and richly deserve our gratitude.  As you see them throughout the coming year, please take a moment to thank them for their generosity.

This Scholarship Fund is something we have wanted to do for some time and the time is right.  DFW-ALTA is in a position to “give back” to its members and may award one or several candidates, depending on the applications received.  If there are no qualified candidates during a given year, the money will be held over for the following year.

Volunteer of the Year

Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Amelia Borden who has gone "beyond the call of duty" in performing her job as a 2009 volunteer for DFW-ALTA.

amelia.JPGAmelia, has really helped out with the website and the luncheon portion this year. She has assisted with luncheon registrations throughout the year. She has been responsible for preparing all name tags, preparing registration lists, checking guests in at the luncheons, reconciling luncheon payments, and mailing luncheon payments to Valerie. At this point you may wonder what I have been doing all year – I’m a firm believer in delegation. Amelia was an eager volunteer. I believe the orderliness of the Dallas luncheons is a testament to Amelia’s hard work, organizational skills and professionalism, traits that are attributes of an outstanding member of the organization.

Amelia Borden, Petro-Hunt, L.L.C.

YOU ARE THE KEY TO OUR SUCCESS

Thank You!

Inspiration Award

PIC 2 BETTER DSCF9090222.JPG
Mr. Randall Perez - Approximately 3 years ago Randall was involved in one of the most horrific accidents one can experience. As Randall was cleaning a SWD tank, an explosion occurred in which Randall was thrown from the tank and Randall was in a complete fireball. He was declared to have suffered in excess of 70%  body burns.

Randall was my inspiration because as he laid helpless in an induced coma, I was by his bedside witnessing this part of his life. There were times when I as President wanted to walk away from my responsibilities as your President however all I could think of was "how selfish of me". Again Randall inspired me to keep moving forward. Randall did not have a choice of what the future had to hold for him yet he was blessed to continue living a normal life. Although Randall continues to go thru tough therapy dealing with his after care, he is living proof of what I would call a "hero".

Let me congratulate Randall as the 2009 Inspiration Award Recipient.

 Results from SurveyMonkey

DFW-ALTA, in its quest to maintain proficiency in this super information age, employed the SurveyMonkey system as a mechanism to accumulate and graphically display the voting results in real time. By using this method, we were able to increase the voter response level by 20%, promote ease of voting and tally within minutes of the polls close.

SurveyMonkey operates through an anonymous method that supports individual privacy and transparency of the voting process within the organization

SurveyMonkey was used to collect the votes for the Volunteer of the Year, Member of the Year and the Charity Foundation to be supported.

The results of the SurveyMonkey for the 2009-2010 eNominees are:
