2010 Scholarship Program Guidelines
DFW-ALTA is proud to offer this Scholarship Program to you, the member, and/or your family members, including spouses, children, step-children and grandchildren, to submit applications for students attending school in the fall 2010.

At its sole discretion, the DFW-ALTA Scholarship Committee reserves the right not to grant this scholarship award during any given year.
Application Requirements:
Applications for scholarships will be accepted from January 1st through July 16th and will be awarded on or before August 16th of each year.
For an applicant to be considered they must either be a Member of DFW-ALTA or have an immediate family member who is a DFW-ALTA member in good standing (this includes children, step-children, grandchildren, and spouses of DFW-ALTA members).
The candidate must complete and submit the Scholarship Program Application, along with his/her written response to the following questions in essay format:
- Describe your extra curricular and work activities.
- Describe the occupation you intend to pursue upon graduation and how you plan to succeed in such occupation.
- List your awards, honors and achievements, describing each briefly.
- Discuss in reasonable detail, your anticipated expenses and funds available during the upcoming school year.
- Why should you be awarded a DFW-ALTA Scholarship?
An official transcript of the applicant’s grades shall be provided by the applicant. The applicant may include the transcript with this application or may provide same under separate cover.
Official Transcript - The document that is signed by the learning institution, including the stamp and/or seal of/or by the registrar.
Applicants must be enrolled or enrolling in a fully accredited college or university, and do not necessarily have to be attaining a Land related degree. Applicants can be a high school senior, college student, or graduate student.
At the discretion of the DFW-ALTA Scholarship Committee, candidates may be asked to appear for an interview.
Granted Scholarship:
Scholarships will be awarded to the student(s) after confirmation of previous semester grades and confirmation of enrollment for present semester. Scholarships granted by the Scholarship Committee will be paid directly to the educational institution; however, it will be at the sole discretion of the committee should they decide to pay the scholarship directly to the student. All scholarships will be based on “need” and community service will be a factor.
First Priority:
DFW-ALTA “Active” member currently employed in the Energy Industry and is enrolled or enrolling in a fully accredited college or university, carrying a minimum of six (6) undergraduate credit hours or three (3) graduate credit hours during the semester and must be maintaining a 2.5 GPA.
Second Priority:
Family member of DFW-ALTA “Active” member currently employed in the Energy Industry, including spouses, children, step-children and grandchildren enrolled or enrolling in a fully accredited college or university, carrying a minimum of six (6) undergraduate credit hours or three (3) graduate credit hours during the semester and must be maintaining a 2.5 GPA.

2010 NALTA Application:
The NALTA 2010 Scholarship Committee Co-Chairs and NALTA are currently accepting applications for its 2010 Scholarship Award. Applicants must have completed 90 accredited hours of college study and majoring in energy related field of study. NALTA encourages its members and family members of NALTA members to submit their applications prior to the April 30, 2010 deadline. You may find the application at www.nalta.org to process your application. Please contact either of the Scholarship Committee Co-Chairs if you have any questions.
